When I was a kid growing up my mom always had a saying when I needed to work on things "You can't beat the basics".
My mom really has a great way of saying things to you to make you get better. Sometimes she can make you a little bit mad, but I think she does that to get you going.
Anytime I had problems with my horse's she would say "Connie, you are loosing your basics". Take your horse off the barrels and go do some basic work with your horse and the barrels will be easy. And everytime I did that I would start winning again. So it is not just a matter of how long or how far you rode your horse, it is what you do with the basics that count.
